Unless selecting a vari-focal camera (with an adjustable lens) It is important to select the correct camera lens option for where the camera is to be positioned. A smaller lens will give you a wider angle but will be "zoomed out more", while a bigger lens will narrow the angle down and "zoom in more". See below to give you some idea on angles of Megapixel HD Cameras:

The amount of hard drive space you require is dictated by how many cameras, as well as their resolution and frame rate settings. Finally you can often make your storage space last a lot longer by enabling motion detected recording rather than continuous, especially if there are long periods of no activity.

As a rule of thumb we recommend a minimum of 2 Terabytes per 4 x 2-4MP HD cameras, as this should give you 2 weeks to a month with a few adjustments on motion detected recording. You may only require the full 25 frames per second on certain cameras if things are fast moving.

The Haydon HAY-PSU12V2ABB is a high-efficiency 12V DC switch mode power supply with integrated battery backup designed specifically for professional security installations where uninterrupted power is essential. Suitable for intruder alarm panels, access control systems, door controllers and other low-voltage security equipment, it combines regulated power delivery with intelligent battery charging inside a compact steel enclosure.
Operating from a universal 90–264V AC mains input, the power supply delivers a stable 13.8V DC nominal output with a maximum continuous load current of 2A. During normal operation, the built-in charging circuit maintains a connected 12V 7Ah sealed lead-acid battery, ensuring it remains fully charged and ready for emergency use. If mains power is interrupted, the PSU automatically transfers to battery operation, maintaining power to connected equipment without interruption. Battery not included.
Designed for dependable long-term performance, the HAY-PSU12V2ABB incorporates electronic overload and short-circuit protection, automatically shutting down the load output under fault conditions during mains operation. Integrated mains transient protection further safeguards both the PSU and connected devices from voltage spikes and electrical disturbances, helping maximise equipment reliability.
