Unless selecting a vari-focal camera (with an adjustable lens) It is important to select the correct camera lens option for where the camera is to be positioned. A smaller lens will give you a wider angle but will be "zoomed out more", while a bigger lens will narrow the angle down and "zoom in more". See below to give you some idea on angles of Megapixel HD Cameras:

The amount of hard drive space you require is dictated by how many cameras, as well as their resolution and frame rate settings. Finally you can often make your storage space last a lot longer by enabling motion detected recording rather than continuous, especially if there are long periods of no activity.

As a rule of thumb we recommend a minimum of 2 Terabytes per 4 x 2-4MP HD cameras, as this should give you 2 weeks to a month with a few adjustments on motion detected recording. You may only require the full 25 frames per second on certain cameras if things are fast moving.

The Haydon HAY-PSU12V3ABB is a high-efficiency 12V DC switch mode power supply with integrated battery backup designed to provide continuous, reliable power for professional security installations. Engineered for use with intruder alarm systems, CCTV equipment, access control devices and general security applications, it combines regulated DC power with intelligent standby battery management inside a robust hinged steel enclosure.
Powered from a universal 90–264V AC mains input, the PSU delivers a stable 13.8V DC nominal output (13.4–14.2V DC under mains operation) with a maximum continuous load current of 3A, providing up to 36W of output power. During a mains failure, the unit automatically transfers to the connected standby battery, supplying 10.0–12.3V DC to ensure uninterrupted operation of connected equipment. It accommodates one 12V 7Ah sealed lead-acid battery and includes an integrated 0.5A charging circuit to maintain optimum battery condition. Battery is supplied separately.
Designed for maximum reliability, the HAY-PSU12V3ABB incorporates electronic overload and short-circuit protection, automatically shutting down the load output during fault conditions while operating from the mains. Integrated mains transient protection safeguards both the power supply and connected devices from voltage spikes and electrical disturbances, helping to maximise long-term system reliability.
