Unless selecting a vari-focal camera (with an adjustable lens) It is important to select the correct camera lens option for where the camera is to be positioned. A smaller lens will give you a wider angle but will be "zoomed out more", while a bigger lens will narrow the angle down and "zoom in more". See below to give you some idea on angles of Megapixel HD Cameras:

The amount of hard drive space you require is dictated by how many cameras, as well as their resolution and frame rate settings. Finally you can often make your storage space last a lot longer by enabling motion detected recording rather than continuous, especially if there are long periods of no activity.

As a rule of thumb we recommend a minimum of 2 Terabytes per 4 x 2-4MP HD cameras, as this should give you 2 weeks to a month with a few adjustments on motion detected recording. You may only require the full 25 frames per second on certain cameras if things are fast moving.

The Haydon HAY-UY2 Gel-Filled 2-Wire IDC Splice Connectors are professional-grade insulation displacement connectors (IDC) designed for fast, secure and moisture-resistant joining of two solid copper conductors. Suitable for 19–26 AWG (0.4–0.9mm) cable, these connectors eliminate the need for wire stripping, making them ideal for telecommunications, CCTV, alarm systems, intercoms, low-voltage wiring and signal cable repairs. They are supplied in a convenient pack of 100, making them perfect for installers, engineers and maintenance professionals.
Each connector is factory-filled with a protective gel sealant that helps resist moisture, corrosion and environmental contaminants, extending the lifespan of cable joints in both indoor and sheltered outdoor installations. During installation, the internal insulation displacement contact pierces the cable insulation to create a reliable electrical connection whilst maintaining a compact splice without requiring soldering or insulation removal.
Designed for solid copper conductors, the HAY-UY2 accommodates wire sizes from 19 to 26 AWG with a maximum insulation diameter of approximately 2.08mm. Its compact yellow housing reduces cable bundle size, making it ideal for installations where space is limited, such as junction boxes, communications cabinets, alarm panels and security equipment.
