Unless selecting a vari-focal camera (with an adjustable lens) It is important to select the correct camera lens option for where the camera is to be positioned. A smaller lens will give you a wider angle but will be "zoomed out more", while a bigger lens will narrow the angle down and "zoom in more". See below to give you some idea on angles of Megapixel HD Cameras:

The amount of hard drive space you require is dictated by how many cameras, as well as their resolution and frame rate settings. Finally you can often make your storage space last a lot longer by enabling motion detected recording rather than continuous, especially if there are long periods of no activity.

As a rule of thumb we recommend a minimum of 2 Terabytes per 4 x 2-4MP HD cameras, as this should give you 2 weeks to a month with a few adjustments on motion detected recording. You may only require the full 25 frames per second on certain cameras if things are fast moving.

The Hikvision HiLook IPC-T280H-MUF is an 8mp 4K Ultra HD IP POE surveillance turret camera featuring 3840 x 2160 resolution 120dB WDR imaging with 2.8mm fixed lens, built-in microphone and up to 30m IR night vision. The camera is manufactured in an IP67 weather resistance housing making it suitable for both indoor an outdoor applications with 3 axis adjustment allowing vertical and horizontal mounting options.
The camera supports 12vDC or PoE connections for easy installation and uses the latest H.265 / H.265+ compression saving considerable bandwidth and data storage requirements, especially useful for ultra HD resolution cameras. 120dB wide dynamic range provides exceptionally high quality images in varying and contrasting light conditions.
The cameras supports motion detection, privacy masking, video tampering, day/night switch and image settings.
