Unless selecting a vari-focal camera (with an adjustable lens) It is important to select the correct camera lens option for where the camera is to be positioned. A smaller lens will give you a wider angle but will be "zoomed out more", while a bigger lens will narrow the angle down and "zoom in more". See below to give you some idea on angles of Megapixel HD Cameras:

The amount of hard drive space you require is dictated by how many cameras, as well as their resolution and frame rate settings. Finally you can often make your storage space last a lot longer by enabling motion detected recording rather than continuous, especially if there are long periods of no activity.

As a rule of thumb we recommend a minimum of 2 Terabytes per 4 x 2-4MP HD cameras, as this should give you 2 weeks to a month with a few adjustments on motion detected recording. You may only require the full 25 frames per second on certain cameras if things are fast moving.

The Ruijie RG-NBS3300-16MG4XS-HP is a next-generation Layer 2 cloud managed switch designed to meet the demands of modern enterprise, education, hospitality and surveillance networks. Equipped with Multi-Gigabit access ports and high-speed 10GbE fibre uplinks, it provides the bandwidth required for Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 wireless deployments, as well as high-resolution IP surveillance and bandwidth-intensive business applications. The switch features 16 × 10/100/1000/2500BASE-T RJ45 ports and 4 × 10GbE SFP+ uplink ports. All RJ45 ports support Power over Ethernet, including 4 IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ ports capable of delivering up to 90W per port, while the remaining 12 ports support IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ with up to 30W per port. A generous 370W PoE budget enables the switch to power multiple high-performance wireless access points, PTZ cameras and other PoE-enabled devices simultaneously. The RG-NBS3300-16MG4XS-HP includes a comprehensive suite of Layer 2 management features such as VLAN, QoS, Link Aggregation, STP/RSTP, IGMP Snooping, ACLs, DHCP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Port Isolation and 802.1X authentication. Advanced CPU Protection Policy (CPP) and enterprise-grade security mechanisms help safeguard the network from attacks whilst ensuring reliable performance. Management is simplified through Ruijie Cloud, allowing administrators to remotely configure, monitor and troubleshoot the network using the web interface or the Ruijie Reyee App. With zero-touch deployment, cloud monitoring and firmware upgrades, the switch reduces installation time and ongoing maintenance costs.
