Unless selecting a vari-focal camera (with an adjustable lens) It is important to select the correct camera lens option for where the camera is to be positioned. A smaller lens will give you a wider angle but will be "zoomed out more", while a bigger lens will narrow the angle down and "zoom in more". See below to give you some idea on angles of Megapixel HD Cameras:

The amount of hard drive space you require is dictated by how many cameras, as well as their resolution and frame rate settings. Finally you can often make your storage space last a lot longer by enabling motion detected recording rather than continuous, especially if there are long periods of no activity.

As a rule of thumb we recommend a minimum of 2 Terabytes per 4 x 2-4MP HD cameras, as this should give you 2 weeks to a month with a few adjustments on motion detected recording. You may only require the full 25 frames per second on certain cameras if things are fast moving.

The Haydon HAY-RJ45BL0.5MCAT6 is a premium-quality CAT6 RJ45 Ethernet patch lead designed to provide dependable, high-speed network connectivity for professional CCTV, IT and structured cabling applications. Supplied in a pack of five, each 0.5-metre red patch lead is perfect for short-distance connections within server cabinets, equipment racks and communications enclosures, helping to maintain a tidy and organised installation.
Manufactured using 28 AWG copper conductors, the cable provides excellent flexibility whilst delivering reliable Gigabit Ethernet performance. It is fitted with industry-standard 8P8C RJ45 modular connectors, making it compatible with network switches, routers, patch panels, IP cameras, NVRs, computers, wireless access points, VoIP telephones and other Ethernet-enabled devices. The cable is wired in accordance with the recognised EIA/TIA-568B standard, ensuring seamless integration into existing network infrastructures.
Each RJ45 connector incorporates gold-plated contacts to minimise contact resistance and ensure stable signal transmission over extended periods of use.
